There are some cobra-like elements to the bowl, but once it came together, the whole pipe reminded me of Kaa from The Jungle Book. In Kipling’s original stories, Kaa is a wise, steady mentor to Mowgli; in the animated version, he’s a hypnotic predator trying to eat him. Take your pick.
The mouthpiece undulates with the live plateau of the shank cap, and there’s even a swirling, “eye”-like mark in the mouthpiece. Subtle, but once you see it… you see it.
