Once I’ve locked in the proportions for a shape, scaling it up or down becomes part math and part intuition — and then it just has to look right. This one does. The mouthpiece is cut from a rod with a purple-toned outer ring and a green core. I oriented the cut so the purple traces the outer edge of the taper and melts into the green right at the stem–shank junction. It’s subtle, mesmerizing, and perfectly balanced.
