Long shanked Prince

This pipe carries a bit of an ending with it. I started making pipes in 2019, right as my wife and I were planting a church. Money was tight, and spending $25 on a block of briar that might not even result in a pipe felt almost impossible. I would buy two or three at a time along with a short length of rod, sell those pipes to friends (the only ones brave enough to buy them back then), and use that to buy a few more blocks.

After about six months, Steve @vermontfreehand ran a sale on green Cumberland. I spent more in that order than I ever had before, on discounted green 8-swirl rodstock. I used it heavily in those early days. This is the very last piece from that order, six years later.

It’s a smaller pipe, with a group 1 bowl and a horn accent.
